The ACSR Tiger Conductor 125 is a widely used aluminum conductor steel reinforced (ACSR) cable designed for overhead power transmission and distribution systems. It is manufactured with 30 aluminum strands (2.36 mm diameter) wrapped around a core of 7 galvanized steel strands (2.36 mm diameter). This unique construction delivers an ideal balance of lightweight aluminum conductivity and high mechanical strength from the steel core,enables higher tensions, less sag, and longer spans than any alternative.

In some parts of the world, ACSR Tiger conductor 125 (Aluminium Conductor Steel Reinforced) are referred to as 125 SCA conductor Tiger (Steel-Cored Aluminium Conductors). Both designations describe the same composite conductor type, consisting of high-purity aluminium wires stranded around a galvanized or aluminium-clad steel core to achieve superior tensile strength and conductivity.

  • BS EN 50182 – Conductors for overhead lines

Construction:

The ACSR Tiger Conductor features a precise construction designed for optimal performance:

1.Aluminum 1350-H19 wires, concentrically stranded about a steel core. Standard core wire for ACSR is class A galvanized

2.Class A core stranding is also available in zinc-5% aluminum-mischmetal alloy coating.

3.For aluminum-clad (AW) ACSR, please refer to the ACSR/AW catalog sheet

4.Additional corrosion protection is available through the application of grease to the core or infusion of the complete cable with grease

5.ACSR conductor is also available in non-specular.
