What's ACSR Skunk Conductor 60

The ACSR Skunk Conductor 60 is a widely used aluminum conductor steel reinforced (ACSR) cable designed for overhead power transmission and distribution systems. It is manufactured with 12 aluminum strands (2.59 mm diameter) wrapped around a core of 7 galvanized steel strands (2.59 mm diameter). This unique construction delivers an ideal balance of lightweight aluminum conductivity and high mechanical strength from the steel core,enables higher tensions, less sag, and longer spans than any alternative.

BS 215-2 – Steel-cored aluminium conductors for overhead power-transmission purposes
BS EN 50182 – Conductors for overhead lines

Construction:

The ACSR Skunk Conductor features a precise construction designed for optimal performance:

1.Aluminum 1350-H19 wires, concentrically stranded about a steel core. Standard core wire for ACSR is class A galvanized

2.Class A core stranding is also available in zinc-5% aluminum-mischmetal alloy coating.

3.For aluminum-clad (AW) ACSR, please refer to the ACSR/AW catalog sheet

4.Additional corrosion protection is available through the application of grease to the core or infusion of the complete cable with grease

5.ACSR conductor is also available in non-specular.
