The "70/12" conductor is a ACSR (aluminum conductor steel reinforced) cable with nominal aluminum cross-sectional area of 70 mm². It has 26 aluminum strands of 1.85 mm diameter and 7 steel strands of 1.44 mm diameter.ACSR 70/12 conductor has a long service record because of its economy, dependability, and strength to weight ratio. The combined light weight and high conductivity of aluminum with strength of the steel core enables higher tensions, less sag, and longer spans than any alternative.

Construction:

The ACSR 70/12 Conductor features a precise construction designed for optimal performance:

1.Aluminum 1350-H19 wires, concentrically stranded about a steel core. Standard core wire for ACSR is class A galvanized

2.Class A core stranding is also available in zinc-5% aluminum-mischmetal alloy coating.

3.For aluminum-clad (AW) ACSR, please refer to the ACSR/AW catalog sheet

4.Additional corrosion protection is available through the application of grease to the core or infusion of the complete cable with grease

5.ACSR conductor is also available in non-specular.
