The ACAR Conductor (Aluminum Conductor Alloy Reinforced) is a high-performance overhead transmission conductor combining the excellent conductivity of aluminum with the superior mechanical strength of aluminum alloy. It is especially suitable for applications requiring both high current-carrying capacity and increased tensile strength.

Structure & Construction

The ACAR conductor consists of a central core of high-strength aluminum alloy wires (typically 6201-T81), surrounded by concentric layers of high-conductivity 1350-H19 aluminum wires. This combination delivers optimal balance between conductivity and tensile strength.

For environments with high humidity or pollution, grease-filled ACAR versions are available to improve corrosion protection and extend service life.
