What's 397.5 ACSR Lark Conductor

The ACSR Lark Conductor (397.5 AWG or kcmil) is a widely used aluminum conductor steel reinforced (ACSR) cable designed for overhead power transmission and distribution systems. It is manufactured with 30 aluminum strands (0.1151 inch diameter) wrapped around a core of 7 galvanized steel strands (0.1151 inch diameter). This unique construction delivers an ideal balance of lightweight aluminum conductivity and high mechanical strength from the steel core,enables higher tensions, less sag, and longer spans than any alternative.

Construction:

The ACSR Lark Conductor features a precise construction designed for optimal performance:

1.Aluminum 1350-H19 wires, concentrically stranded about a steel core. Standard core wire for ACSR is class A galvanized

2.Class A core stranding is also available in zinc-5% aluminum-mischmetal alloy coating.

3.For aluminum-clad (AW) ACSR, please refer to the ACSR/AW catalog sheet

4.Additional corrosion protection is available through the application of grease to the core or infusion of the complete cable with grease

5.ACSR conductor is also available in non-specular.
